Quick Start

VoSonar's current launch baseline is the Windows desktop app. This guide reflects the current repository and release state. macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS are future tracks, not currently published products.

1. Install the Windows Desktop App

Download the Windows installer from the Download page. The current release format is a single-file installer with a name like:

VoSonar-0.3.0-setup.exe

The default per-user install path is:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\VoSonar\VoSonar.exe

If the installer needs to download models or ffmpeg, keep the network available and wait for verification to complete. The main app starts after the runtime assets pass validation.

2. Set a Dictation Hotkey

The dictation hotkey is empty by default.

  1. Open VoSonar.
  2. Go to the Dictation page or the hotkey area in Settings.
  3. Record and save a hotkey that does not conflict with your daily tools, for example Ctrl+Alt+Space.

You can also use the main button on the Dictation page without setting a hotkey.

3. Run Your First Dictation

  1. Focus a target text field, such as Notepad, an email editor, or a browser input.
  2. In VoSonar, click Start Dictation or press your saved hotkey.
  3. Speak normally.
  4. Stop recording and wait for recognition, post-processing, and text injection.
  5. If the target app rejects injection, use Copy or Retry Injection.

4. Next Steps

  • Read Installation for Windows setup, updates, and platform limits.
  • Read Basic Usage for dictation, media transcription, live translation, meetings, accounts, and quotas.
  • Read FAQ to confirm what is implemented, what is planned, and what still requires real-environment validation.
